CBC, in alliance with USAID and Technoserve, launch a support project for Tiendas de Colonia in El Salvador

The United States government, through USAID, Cbc and TechnoServe, has launched the “Support Project for Tiendas de Colonia” in El Salvador, with the aim of promoting inclusive economic growth in the retail sector. This project will offer financial and business training to 44,000 local merchants, improving their business models through digital channels. In addition, it seeks to facilitate access to financing for 10,500 businesses and benefit 15,000 residents of Santa Ana, San Miguel and San Salvador with new products and services.

The program includes an acceleration for more than 1,800 stores, which will receive technical support in key areas such as sales and digitalization. A leadership and empowerment course for women will also be offered. This effort is part of the Central America Forward initiative, aimed at mobilizing investments in the region and reaffirming the commitment to economic development in El Salvador. The project aims not only to improve the sustainability of these businesses, but also to generate a positive social impact in the communities.
